A panel discussion on legal instruments to protect LGBT+ people from prejudiced crimes and hate speech was held at the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University.

Three prominent legal figures spoke on the panel:

  • Petra Naskosová (In IUSTITIA), who has long been dedicated to representing victims of prejudiced crimes
  • Monika Hanych (Constitutional Court), an expert on freedom of expression on the Internet
  • Lucia Berdisová (Slovak Academy of Sciences), whose research focuses, among other things, on the protection of human rights and the rights of LGBT+ minorities

The discussion was moderated by law student Václav Prais from the Lexicon Academic Association. A space was created where law met personal commitment and where a number of important ideas were raised – from the need for consistent legal protection to the importance of education and sensitive public debate.
