With shy Saira, daughter of the queens of the planet Clitopolis, recently dumped by the charismatic bounty hunter Kiki, heartbreak quickly turns into a mission. When the devastated princess learns that her ex-girlfriend has been kidnapped by white heterosexual aliens who demand the most powerful lesbian weapon — the royal labrys — as ransom, she sets off on an inter-gay-lactic rescue quest to free Kiki from the clutches of evil incels. Leaving the safety of home, Saira meets optimistic singer-songwriter Willow and a dubiously macho spaceship, while her journey gradually becomes a search for her true self. This animated sci-fi comedy by creative duo Leela Varghese and Emma Hough Hobbs, winner of the Teddy Award at Berlinale, is a colourful, catchy and sharply ironic odyssey through the many corners of the queer universe.
