Joanne's life seems prim and picture-perfect. Together with her loving husband, she cares for her inquisitive daughter Vicky, and the only exciting point in her daily routine is the dive into an icy lake. But the unannounced arrival of Joanne's sister-in-law Julie causes a sudden turmoil. A tense atmosphere develops between the women, which even little Vicky senses. She uses her supernatural abilities to uncover the protagonists' shared past. However, her rekindled memories suggest that Vicky may not have been born at all. A gripping and poignant hybrid balancing the genres of sci-fi and horror with elements of magical realism, this film arrives from Cannes as the second feature of French director Léa Mysius. Both the cast of the excellent Adèle Exarchopoulos (known from Blue Is the Warmest Colour) and the strongest karaoke rendition yet of the 80s Bonnie Tyler hit promise an unforgettable experience.
